Time Shift Maze 3D

A first-person maze with a time twist: glowing phase walls flip between solid and ghost every few seconds (they flash amber 1 second before switching — that warning is always fair). Freeze time itself for 3 seconds, 3 times per run, and reach the portal before the 2:30 master timer ends.

Minimap is inside the stage (top-right) while playing — visible in fullscreen too.

About Time Shift Maze 3D

Time Shift Maze 3D is a first-person maze escape where time is a real, manipulable game system rather than a theme. Each run generates a fresh 11×11 maze, picks sixteen of its interior walls and turns them into phase walls: glowing cyan blocks that are solid for three seconds, then ghost for three seconds, opening and closing shortcuts through the maze on a strict, predictable cycle. Every switch is telegraphed fairly — the walls flash amber and pulse for a full second before they flip — so being caught out is always your own planning error, never a trick.

On top of the phase cycle sits a master countdown of two and a half minutes and your one true time power: Freeze. Pressing F (three charges per run) stops time itself for up to three seconds — the phase timers halt mid-cycle and the master countdown pauses — while you keep moving at full speed. Freeze a wall in its ghost phase to stroll through a long corridor, or freeze the countdown in the final seconds to buy the steps you need. If a wall turns solid while you are standing in its space, the game nudges you to the nearest open side instead of trapping you.

Importantly, the maze is fair by construction: a phase wall is only ever a normal wall that sometimes opens, so the carved route to the exit always exists in every phase — waiting is a choice, never a requirement. Your score rewards both pace and thrift: ten points for every second left on the clock plus 150 for each Freeze charge you never needed.

⏳ Time mechanics: This 3D game plays with time itself — time is a real game mechanic here, not just a theme: you can rewind it, race against a recording of your own past, or freeze it mid-run. No downloads: it runs entirely in your browser.

How to Play Time Shift Maze 3D

1

Press Start Game: a fresh 11×11 maze appears, 16 walls become phase walls, and the 2:30 master timer starts.

2

Move in first person with WASD or the arrow keys, strafe with Q and E, drag the mouse to look, and use the minimap (cyan = phase walls, green = exit).

3

Phase walls cycle solid → ghost every 3 seconds. When they flash amber, a switch is exactly one second away — decide whether to dash through or back off.

4

Press F to freeze time for up to 3 seconds: phase timers and the master countdown stop while you keep moving. You have 3 charges.

5

Reach the glowing green exit portal before the timer ends. Score = 10 points per second remaining + 150 per unused Freeze.

Tips & Tricks

  • 💡Never wait for a phase wall out of habit: the maze's real corridors always reach the exit, and a phase shortcut only pays when it is already ghost or about to flip.
  • 💡The best Freeze is a held ghost phase: trigger it the moment a wall turns ghost at the mouth of a long corridor and you get a guaranteed clear run through.
  • 💡Watch the minimap's cyan segments, not just the 3D view — planning two phase walls ahead is what turns a scramble into a route.
  • 💡An unused Freeze is worth 150 points, the same as 15 seconds of clock. Late in a run, weigh a freeze against simply running the long way round.

Time Shift Maze 3D — Frequently Asked Questions

What is the time twist in Time Shift Maze 3D?+

It is a full 3D maze where time is a working mechanic: walls exist in different states at different times (solid or ghost on a 6-second cycle), a master countdown governs the run, and your Freeze ability stops that time system — phase timers and countdown alike — while you keep moving.

Are the phase wall switches fair? Can one trap me?+

Yes, they are fair by design. Every switch is announced by a full second of amber flashing and pulsing, on the walls and on the minimap. Phase walls are also chosen from ordinary maze walls, so the maze is solvable in any phase — and if a wall turns solid while you stand in its space, you are nudged to the nearest open side rather than trapped.

What exactly does Freeze Time stop?+

Freeze stops the phase cycle (walls hold their current solid or ghost state) and the master countdown, for up to 3 seconds per charge, with 3 charges per run. It does not stop you — movement, turning and strafing all continue normally, which is what makes it powerful.

How is my score calculated?+

Escaping awards 10 points for every second left on the master timer plus 150 points for each Freeze charge you did not use. Timing out scores zero, so a slightly slower escape with charges saved can outscore a reckless sprint.
