About Ghost Lap Racer 3D
Ghost Lap Racer 3D is a closed-circuit time trial built on a simple, honest idea: recorded time is your rival. Across three laps of a barrier-lined circuit, your only rival is yourself. Lap 1 is driven clean and recorded in full — your car's position and heading are sampled roughly thirty times per second. From lap 2 onward, that recording is replayed as a translucent cyan ghost car driving the circuit beside you in real time, taking exactly the lines, braking points and mistakes of your previous lap.
Racing a ghost changes how a time trial feels. You can see, corner by corner, whether your new line is better: if the ghost pulls away on a straight, you braked too much; if you sail past it in a hairpin, your past self was sloppy there. At every lap line the game shows your lap time and the live delta against the ghost lap, and after lap 3 you get your total time with a per-lap table and your best lap. The ghost then becomes your newest lap, so the target keeps moving as you improve.
The driving itself is simple arcade physics — accelerate, brake, steer, with speed-sensitive steering and barriers that scrub off speed when you scrape them — around a superellipse circuit with checkerboard start line, gantry, infield pond and trees. Three laps take a couple of minutes, and every restart gives you a faster ghost to chase.

How to Play Ghost Lap Racer 3D
Press Start Game: you are on the start line of a closed circuit for a 3-lap time trial. Lap 1 is recorded as you drive it.
Accelerate with W or the up arrow, brake with S or down, and steer with A/D or the arrow keys — steering bites harder as speed builds.
Stay inside the red-and-white barriers: the track limits are enforced and scraping a barrier cuts your speed hard.
From lap 2, a translucent ghost car replays your previous lap exactly. Race it — your lap-end delta shows whether you beat it.
Complete all 3 laps to see your total time, the per-lap table and your best lap, then restart to chase a faster ghost.

- 💡The ghost repeats your mistakes perfectly — if it wobbles wide in a corner, take a tighter, slower-in-fast-out line and you will pass your past self there.
- 💡Brake in a straight line before the tight ends of the circuit. A barrier scrape costs far more time than braking slightly early.
- 💡On lap 2, note exactly where your ghost brakes for each corner; braking one beat later, once you know the corner, is the easiest free speed available.
- 💡Smoothness beats aggression: the car's steering grip scales with speed, so a calm line at steady pace is usually faster than repeated flat-out barrier bounces.

The circuit edges are enforced: running wide pushes the car back inside the track limits and cuts its speed sharply. It will not end your race, but a clean lap with no scrapes is always the fastest lap.
